Joakim Noah’s grandfather is coming from Africa to see him play for the first time
via some newspaper in Chicago that the Tribune won’t allow me to recognize exists (4/26/2011):
‘‘I’ve got my grandfather coming all the way from Africa,’’ Noah said. ‘‘He’s never seen me play an NBA game, so that’s really exciting.’’Zacharie Noah, who has traveled from Cameroon, is 72, ‘‘but he’s still in great shape and is always ready to party,’’ Noah said. ‘‘It’ll be fun. He’s never seen the UC. They don’t have a United Center in Cameroon.’’
The Noahs will have a happy reunion, but Joakim said he hasn’t thought about what else he’ll show his grandfather in Chicago.
